Metrolink Single Track Award: Plocher Construction has been awarded the 2.6 mile single-track section of the latest Metrolink expansion, which will connect SAFB to MidAmerica Airport.

MSD Solids Management Upgrades notice of award: The team of Kokosing Industrial and Plocher Construction, along with their design partner CMT, has received the notice of award to design and build biosolids improvement facilities at two of MSD’s largest treatment plants: Bissell Point and Lemay. MSD Lower Meramec Treatment Facility Milestone: Pipe Pile operations have concluded at the Lower Meramec Treatment Facility. Over the course of 5 months, we have driven, welded, and filled with concrete over 1,400 18” diameter pipe piles, totaling over 76,000 lineal feet. These piles support the aeration basins, clarifiers, and gravity thickeners, which are all critical components of the water treatment process. Hats off to our self-perform crew of top-notch carpenters, laborers, and operators who have worked relentlessly to complete this specialized task.

Zitzman Elementary School Receives Concrete Council Award: As the final phase of construction is wrapping up at Zitzman Elementary in Pacific, MO, we were recognized by the Concrete Council of St. Louis for the construction of the ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) systems used throughout this 26,000 sf building addition.

Trace’s Third Building is Completed: The third luxury apartment building at Trace on the Parkway is complete and residents are moving in this week! In addition to the 77 upscale living units, this building also includes a fitness center, lounge with a coffee bar, a dog wash, and attached garages. Spring Outage Season is Coming to an End: When building foundations near operational power lines, the lines are deenergized for the safety of the crews. The best time to restrict power is in the spring and fall when usage isn’t as high. Every spring and fall we work swiftly to build drilled pier foundations as quickly as possible so those deenergized lines can be turned back on. During the Spring 2023 outage season we will have built over 200 foundations at five different sites throughout Illinois.

The Plocher Construction team gathered to show their fishing skills off at the fall picnic in Highland, IL. Although not many fish were caught that day everyone had a great time telling their own fish stories.

Recently completed project for the City of Decatur aimed to modernize their water clarification process by replacing two of the existing end-of-service-life clarifiers with new claricones. Our team began by demolishing the equipment and the interior base slab of the existing basins, shoring, and excavating another 30’ below the base inside of the existing structure walls, and then installing new concrete walled claricones with steel process components. The new claricones utilize water jets and directional control of influent water to induce rotation of the fluid, eliminating the traditional high maintenance rotating components of the clarification process while simplifying process control.

Plocher Construction was awarded the contract for the Jacksonville WWTP Phase 1 Headworks Building improvement project. This $15MM dollar project is the first planned phases for a complete overhaul of the Jacksonville waste water treatment plant. The project is expected to take about 2 years.

Through a partnership with Ameren Corporation, Plocher Construction will be gearing up to build 42 miles of transmission lines in northern Missouri. This project will provide grid resilience and reliability to the communities in which this line runs.

Plocher construction was awarded the general trades package for the new Aviston IL Elementary School Improvements.

Progress Update: The Center Operations Building for IL American Water is getting its final touch and is ready for use in early 2024. The New 55,000 sq ft design build project located on a 20-acre site north of Godfrey. Project consists of a 15,000 sq ft office area attached to a 40,000 sq ft PEMB warehouse.

The Plocher crews have been working extremely hard on the recent Clinton Oreana Line of transmission foundations. Our highly skilled work force continues to forge a path through tough terrain to install over 200 drilled pier foundations for Ameren Electric.
