Plocher Construction was responsible for the construction of three major bridge structures as part of a critical transportation infrastructure project. The scope included the completion of the Rieder Road Bridge and Little Silver Creek Bridge, with the Silver Creek Bridge finalized shortly thereafter. Bridge work involved cast-in-place (CIP) deck construction, parapet installation, and waterproofing systems.
Foundation work included the drilling and installation of 118 deep shafts to support the Overhead Contact System (OCS), along with the construction of seven change order CIP box culverts to accommodate revised drainage and load requirements.
In addition to bridge structures, Plocher executed the installation of underground electric systems and placed sub-ballast for future track installation. The project was sequenced to enable turnover of the majority of the mainline corridor to the Systems Contractor on schedule.
Final project phases included construction of the station platform and plaza areas, integrating site civil improvements with structural elements to support future transit operations.
