Korte Meats partnered with our team to transform the former Wall Street Journal building in Highland, Illinois, into a fully modernized facility tailored to their operational needs. This design-build project involved a complete interior gut and full build-out to repurpose the space for food production and administrative use.
Working within the shell of the original structure, the project team designed and executed a comprehensive renovation that brought the building up to current standards. This included new MEP systems, interior partitions, finishes, and specialized installations to accommodate food-safe environments. Coordination with the owner throughout design and construction ensured the space met all regulatory, efficiency, and workflow requirements critical to their meat processing operations.
With a focus on speed, cost control, and client collaboration, the design-build approach enabled seamless integration from planning through completion. The result is a revitalized, high-performing facility that gives new life to a once-vacant building, supporting local business growth and job creation in the Highland community.
